Angela joined CUHK in 2024 after 17 years at Singapore Management University. She received her PhD in social psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her BSocSc with first-class honours from the University of Hong Kong. Her research asks how our mindsets can turn complex, contradictory challenges into opportunities. She has served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Asian Journal of Social Psychology and Associate Editor of the Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, and currently sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Management and Organization Review and the British Journal of Social Psychology. She also edited the Handbook of Culture and Creativity (Oxford University Press, 2018).
